Notice to all Fernie trail users!

It is trapping season from Nov-Feb

There are animal traps set on the Fernie X/C, ski hill trails (Crown Land), one of them went off on my dogs face. Traps are on the ground and on trees within reach of children and other family members reach!!

There is nothing more distressing then hearing and seeing your animal in such pain. BEAWARE there are NO signs warning of this danger, however RCR will be signing up the trail,. Apparently trappers have been trapping in this corridor for many years, so please take care!

We are recovering it’s beyond words that this could ever happen on such an active and highly used trail. Thanks to my composed and fast acting friends, it could have been a far worse outcome.
